LA ISLA is a unique and vibrant Classical Guitar Ensemble comprised of dedicated young guitarists from the Helga Hagen Music Studio on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
They play music from around the world, from Renaissance to Contemporary eras, and venture to compose some of their own West Coast Pieces.
Each current member of La Isla is aged from twelve to sixteen and has earned a spot in the Ensemble through a combination of talent and a good work ethic. Although the Ensemble is ever evolving and dynamic, a passion for music and performing has remained at its core for over twenty-five years.
Having regularly showcased their music through solo and group performances across Vancouver Island, they have recently received wider recognition of their talent with top marks from examiners from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto.
Following a recommendation by an Examiner of the Musikschule Feldkirchen in Carinthia, Austria, La Isla travelled to the region and performed at various Conservatory venues to great acclaim.
The Helga Hagen Music Studio was established over twenty-five years ago and has received recognition across the whole of Canada.
